My name is Kevin Dear and ever since I was a young boy I have been interested in greyhounds, my earliest memory was with my dad watching the ITV seven on a Saturday afternoon, especially in the winter, when the horses were frozen or water logged off, being replaced with greyhound racing (this before the days of all-weather racing)

Though I had not seen a greyhound track where I came from in Scotland I still had a passion about them, watching the TV trophy etc. or any meeting that was covered by TV.

It was not until I moved down to London thirty years ago for work, that I really got involved in going to greyhound racing. So much so that I even told a little porky pie, to change my workplace to Walthamstow so I could go to the racing more.

I have always been interested in betting and now I could combine the two.
I was a novice to start with but soon picked it up, by regularly attending meetings, watching and observing betting moves and selecting dogs to follow next time out.

I also learned from several professional punters who attended the track at that time.

I became quite successful but at the time I had a young family and a limited budget, so had to show restraint as well.

With one nice win my mate and I went to Hackney sales and against my other half's wishes purchased our first greyhound, but we were so naive back then, our trainer took advantage of that.

Lots of lessons learned along the way, which makes me the person I am now.

I moved on from that and my Dad bought a nice bitch in Ireland which came over and was trained at Walthamstow. I used to visit the kennels regularly and this again gave me a good insight into this sport. At the end of her racing career we sent her back to Ireland to have some pups, thus seeing that side of the business. I then went over on another trip to see the pups, brought another bitch back with me and became a kennel hand, this alongside my chosen career.

This enabled me to work with my dog and others; in fact I covered for the trainers when he went on his two week summer holiday. I was also able to take the dogs racing and parade them putting them into the traps.
All more valuable experience in this game.

There were a lot of ups and downs along the way, where I fell in and out of the ownership game, but my love of spotting a nice priced winner never ever deserted me.

Moving on a pace I am now in the financial position to seriously back my selections and make good money from all my thirty years of dog racing experience.

I only back Open Races Not Graded

Why am I an open race tipster only?

Well over the years and having been involved in graded racing as an owner, graded racing is more difficult than open racing. Open class dogs are more consistent and as such make them more reliable for betting purposes.

Some tipsters say they have a wealth of contacts for inside information, whilst I do have a number of contacts, I much prefer to use my own judgment.
Now with the advent of Sky Sports and their excellent coverage of all the best Open Races in the Greyhound Calendar along with the advent of Racing Post Greyhound TV on Ch. 212 on Sky, this has enabled me to really strike fear in the bookmakers.

The edge that this coverage gives is that I work out my tissue price for the races along with my selections; if then in the morning I spot any of the firms have made a mistake in pricing a dog up, then the Master strikes.

It's all about the value angle for me, if I know a dog will start shorter than the morning price, then in we step.

On an average week you can expect to receive 4 to 7 very strong gambles from me that are expected to win.

I am already banned by several leading bookmakers from having any greyhound bets with them as a result of my gambles landed.

I have been proofing my system to BetFan for several weeks and have shown a very healthy 30% plus strike rate and excellent profits.
